    Office Manager

    You will be responsible for general administrative and operations tasks at a Y-Combinator backed, fast-paced spacecraft startup. You will proactively manage a range of tasks to keep the office running smoothly, including employee onboarding, planning team-building events, basic accounting tasks, basic purchasing, handling accounts payable/receivable, managing various software administrative tools (e.g. Gusto), and other assorted tasks that may arise.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2+ years relevant experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and GSuite
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Adaptable
    • Positive, friendly attitude

    Technician

    Under the direction of more senior employees, you will assist in the manufacture, assembly, inspection, and testing of rocket engines and other spacecraft propulsion hardware. You will perform work according to established work procedures, document "as-run" of work packages, and provide real-world feedback to assist engineers and senior technicians with improving procedures.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Ability to precisely follow written work instructions
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • Certification from a trade school program or 1 year experience in an industrial environment using basic hand tools (e.g. torque wrenches, calipers, etc.) or electrical tools (e.g. multimeter)
    • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to perform work on test equipment
    • Able to lift items up to 50 pounds unassisted
    Desired
    • Experience in an aerospace production or maintenance environment
    • Experience with high pressure systems and compressed gases
    • Experience with high pressure line fabrication and fittings (e.g. AN fittings or Swagelok)
    • Experience with TIG/MIG welding
    • Experience with basic manual machining

    Senior Technician

    Under the direction of a lead technician and hardware engineers, you will perform tasks for the manufacture, assembly, inspection, and testing of rocket engines and other spacecraft propulsion hardware. You will perform work according to established work procedures, document "as-run" of work packages, and help refine development procedures to a production-ready state.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Ability to precisely follow written work instructions

    • Certification from a trade school program

    Lead Technician

    You will lead a team of junior technicians in the manufacture, assembly, inspection, and testing of rocket engines and other spacecraft propulsion hardware. In collaboration with hardware engineers you will develop work procedures, manage build documentation, and mature development procedures to a production-ready state.

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Ability to precisely follow written work instructions

    • Certification from a trade school program
    • 5+ years in an aerospace production or maintenance environment

    Systems Engineer

    You will work with internal and external customers, integrated product teams, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and verification methods for spacecraft propulsion systems, rocket engines, and associated items. You will be responsible for assisting in mission design and definition of spacecraft architecture. You will derive and assign subsidiary requirements as necessary from parent systems to subsystems, components, and piece parts. You will be the primary driver for systems requirements reviews, and will track requirements verification through the entire lifecycle for your products. You will be responsible for Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). You will maintain and track lessons learned across all projects for which you are assigned.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an ABET accredited school
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • 5+ years experience in systems engineering
    • Basic understanding of spacecraft architecture and propulsion devices

    Desired

    • Experience with industry-standard requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)
    • Experience with configuration control software

    Mechanical Design Engineer

    You will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of various mechanisms and mechanical devices for spacecraft propulsion systems and rocket engines. This requires both comprehensive skills with 3D CAD design tools, proficiency with basic structural and thermal analysis, familiarity with various methods of fabrication and how to design for those methods, and an ability to iterate on design as informed by hardware testing and the fast-evolving requirements of an agile development environment.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an ABET accredited school
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • 2+ years experience in mechanical design or drafting
    • High proficiency in 3D CAD (esp. Solidworks)
    • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 preferred)
    • Understanding of design for manufacturability

    Desired

    • Experience in mechanical design of aerospace flight hardware
    • Experience in FEA analysis tools (esp. Solidworks Simulation)
    • Understanding of design for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing
    • Experience in refractory ceramics design (e.g. Hexoloy)

    Mechanical Engineer

    You will be responsible for an array of mechanical design and analysis tasks for various spacecraft propulsion hardware, including rocket engines, pressure vessels, and spacecraft structures. You will have good 3D CAD skills, and working proficiency with structural and thermal FEA tools, especially CAD-integrated tools. You will provide technical guidance on design requirements to meet operational loads, mass requirements, and packaging constraints.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an ABET accredited school
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • 2+ years experience in mechanical engineering
    • Good proficiency in 3D CAD (esp. Solidworks)

    Desired

    • Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
    • Experience in mechanical design of aerospace flight hardware
    • Experience in advanced FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred)
    • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 preferred)
    • Understanding of design for manufacturability

    Thermo-Structural Engineer

    You will be responsible for detailed structural and thermal analysis for spacecraft propulsion systems and their subcomponents. You will assist in the layout and sizing of primary structural elements, and inform design iteration of hardware to ensure that design requirements for severe operating environments are met. You will provide technical guidance on hardware structural integrity under combined loading conditions, including random vibration, mechanical shock, and in-space thermal environments.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an ABET accredited school
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • 5 years experience in structures and/or thermal analysis for aerospace or similar fields
    • Experience with FEA design tools (ANSYS preferred)
    • Experience with 3D CAD tools (Solidworks preferred)

    Propulsion Design Engineer

    You will be responsible for design and analysis of combustion devices and fluid systems for use in various spacecraft propulsion applications. You will have the ultimate design authority for your assigned thrusters, rocket engines, and propulsion module systems. You are expected to be an expert on injector design, chamber thermo-structural analysis, heat transfer, and propellant feed systems. You will work in tandem with propulsion development engineers to define the test program necessary to characterize and verify your designs. You will have project management responsibilities associated with shepherding your designs through from initial concept to the production phase, and will lead and coordinate engineers from other disciplines to deliver propulsion hardware that meets your design requirements. You must be able to comprehensively document and organize the design artifacts that fully define and specify the products for which your are the responsible engineer.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an ABET accredited school
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • 5 years experience in liquid rocket propulsion
    • Experience with design of fluid feed systems
    Desired
    • Master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited school

    • Experience with hydrogen peroxide propulsion, especially bipropellant

    Propulsion Development Engineer

    You will be responsible for planning and executing the development and testing of rocket engines and rocket engine components from design stage through flight certification, and into production hardware acceptance testing. This will include the specification of the test program, fabrication of test stands and other support equipment, and direct oversight of test campaigns as the Test Conductor (TC). You must have sufficient command of rocket engine propulsion to competently interpret test data results and make salient recommendations for hardware changes to realize design intent. You must be able to comprehensively document test activities and capture all relevant qualitative and quantitative information from those tests.

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an ABET accredited school
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (“green card” holder)
    • 5 years experience in Aerospace or similar industry (e.g. Oil&Gas, Nuclear, Automotive)
    • Experience with testing of hazardous high pressure systems
    • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to perform work on test equipment
    • Able to lift items up to 25 pounds unassisted
    Desired
    • Master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited school
    • Experience in liquid rocket engine testing
